GENESIS is a 501c3 non-profit that aims to empower youth with essential business knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial mindset through innovative and experiential learning opportunities, fostering their growth as future leaders and contributors to a dynamic global economy.
Our vision for the upcoming years is to create opportunities in business education for over 1000 young people.
Start-Up Showdown

Have you ever heard of the hit show "Shark Tank?" For those of you who don't, Shark Tank is a show in which Entrepreneurs and Business Owners come in and speak to potential investors about their business. They pitch their business to a select group of individuals in the hopes of receiving funding and a valuable partner.
Well, your child has the opportunity to model the works of some of the most successful business owners. In our second "Start-up Showdown" in 2024, your child will be expected to come up with a plan for their own business and pitch it to our own group of investors that we will be bringing in. Join us in empowering the next generation!

High School Head Start Camp
High School Head Start is designed to prepare middle and early high school students for success by introducing key skills in business, marketing, and leadership through interactive workshops. Participants will engage in a student-led Q&A session to address common questions about high school life and explore popular extracurricular clubs such as DECA, HOSA, Model United Nations, Speech & Debate, and Young Investors Society. This program builds confidence and provides valuable insights to help students navigate their high school journey with clarity and purpose.
We'll also introduce a new and upcoming online entrepreneurship competition in partnership with Harvard-affiliated Jetson!

Alongside the Start-Up Showdown, we're thrilled to announce our partnership with the Jetson App, the #1 entrepreneurship app on the App Store. At The Genesis Initiative, we believe in providing young entrepreneurs with the tools, mentorship, and opportunities they need to succeed—and with Jetson, we’re taking that mission to the next level. With over 100k+ users and previous partnerships with Harvard, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Duke, and many high-profile VCs, we hope to truly change the startup ecosystem. Together, GENESIS and Jetson are redefining what’s possible for young entrepreneurs.

My kids have participated in two events organized by Genesis, both of which were organized very efficiently. The instructions and details were neatly laid out with continuous follow ups through whatsapp groups and emails.

When I went to the Genesis Initiative DECA camp, I knew it was going to be challenging but it was super fun to learn how to create amazing business presentations and many more. It also helped me understand more about DECA.

Founders of The GENESIS Initiative
Siddharth Kommuri is a sophomore at Rouse High School in Leander, Texas. He hopes to bring The Genesis Initiative’s projects to a large number of youth to share his passion for entrepreneurship. In the future, he hopes to learn more about finance and business. Siddharth’s hobbies include soccer, basketball, reading, and watching Shark Tank.
Hasini Chandrakumar, a sophomore at Rouse High School in Leander, Texas, is dedicated to broadening entrepreneurship and financial literacy education for youth from all backgrounds. She aspires to delve deeper into corporate law and business administration in the future.
